Reserves have a variety of duties and responsibilities including but not limited to; responding to calls for service, report writing, traffic enforcement handling, domestic violence, coroner’s cases, DUI checkpoints, surveillance, as well as many other law enforcement responsibilities.
The Sutter County Sheriff's Office gives the Reserve Patrol Deputies the same training and updates as regular full time deputies. We are all certified in First Aid/CPR, weaponless defense, criminal law/legal updates. All deputies are certified with handguns, tasers and AR-15's. We receive narcotics training and some of are Drug Recognition certified, background investigators, firearms instructors, less lethal instructors, and more.
